• Is this just text-to-speech reading my articles? Will it sound like a robot?

  No. Two AI hosts have a conversation about what you saved — they riff, disagree, pull out the line worth remembering. The voices are from Google's Gemini TTS, which clears the uncanny valley for most listeners. The hero player on this page is a real episode, not a mock. If it doesn't pass your ear test, it won't pass anyone's.

• Are you using my reading list to train a model? Who can see what I save?

  We don't sell the corpus, pool it into a training set, or share what you read with advertisers. Sponsorships are a single host-read segment written ahead of time and dropped into the week's episodes — no per-listener targeting, no profiles handed to advertisers, no idea on the sponsor's side what was in any particular episode. Worth knowing: stations are public by default — anyone with your station URL can see your episodes and their source articles. If you want your reading private, switch the station to private in settings. We'll add a paid private-by-default plan later.

• Will this play in Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Overcast, Spotify?

  Every account gets a private RSS feed. Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Overcast, Castro, Snipd — anything that takes a feed URL works. Spotify requires a manual feed submission per show, which we haven't built yet. There's no app to install.

• What if the hosts hallucinate or misrepresent an article?

  They will, sometimes. We pass the article text directly into the script generator and constrain the hosts to talk about what's actually on the page, but LLMs still occasionally invent a detail or get a name wrong. We're working on a per-segment trace so you can see where any claim came from. Until then, treat the episode as a smart summary you'd skim, not as a citable source.

• What can I save? Do I need to use Pocket?

  Paste any URL. Most articles, blog posts, and Substack/Ghost newsletters work. PDFs work. Twitter threads work via the thread URL. Pocket shut down in 2025, so we don't integrate with it; Instapaper is on the roadmap. The fastest cold start is to paste 3–5 URLs from your open tabs.

• Will this read articles behind a paywall — NYT, WSJ, FT, The Information?

  No. We don't bypass paywalls. If you can't read the article without logging in, we can't either. Workaround: most paywalled sites publish a free RSS summary, or you can paste the article body into a private Gist and feed us that URL.

• If I sign up and bail, what happens to my data?

  Delete your account from settings; saved articles, generated episodes, RSS feed, and account record go away within 24 hours. The audio files in blob storage are removed in the same sweep. We keep aggregate, non-identifying metrics for product analytics. No dark patterns — there's a delete button, not a contact-support flow.

• I can paste an article into ChatGPT or NotebookLM. Why pay for this?

  You can, and for one article you should. audiclip is for the 200 articles you'll never get around to. Daily delivery, a real RSS feed your podcast app already syncs, two-host conversation tuned for listening, and an episode that's ready when you're walking the dog. The unit you're buying is a habit, not a transcription.

• Is this a Pocket or Instapaper replacement?

  It does a different job. Pocket and Instapaper give you a place to read what you saved later. audiclip turns what you saved into a podcast — so the saves you'd never finish reading land in your ears on the walk to work instead. We also have a built-in reader if you want to read the original, and the reader side is improving fast.
